Our Mission
DigitalDubai.ai is an independent online publication covering Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. Our mission is to provide accessible, accurate and useful analysis of the stories shaping the country’s economy, technology landscape, government services and daily life. We are not affiliated with the Digital Dubai Office, the Dubai Government, the UAE Federal Government or any other official entity.
Sourcing and Attribution
Our reporting draws on a wide range of primary and secondary sources including official government announcements, the major Dubai and UAE newspapers (Gulf News, Khaleej Times, The National, Arabian Business), corporate press releases, research reports from recognised institutions, and publicly accessible regulatory filings.
- Every article cites at least one primary source and links to it directly so readers can verify the underlying reporting.
- When we summarise another publication’s reporting, we credit that publication clearly and provide a working hyperlink.
- We do not republish copyrighted text verbatim. All articles are written in our own words and structure.
- Statistics, quotes and named claims are attributed to their source so readers can trace any specific assertion.
Accuracy and Verification
We work hard to publish accurate information, but news evolves and mistakes can happen. We follow the following accuracy standards:
- Every article is reviewed before publication for factual accuracy against its cited sources.
- Where a story develops materially after publication, we update the article with a clearly dated note.
- Where we have made a factual error, we issue a correction and explain what changed.
- We do not invent quotes, attribute statements to people who did not make them, or fabricate sources.
Corrections Policy
When we determine that an article contains a factual error, we take the following steps:
- We update the article to correct the error.
- We add a clearly visible note at the top of the article explaining what was changed and when.
- For significant errors that affected interpretation of the story, we acknowledge the correction publicly on our social media channels.
- We never silently delete or rewrite articles to hide errors.
Use of AI in Our Newsroom
DigitalDubai.ai uses artificial intelligence tools to assist with research, summarisation, editorial structure and copy-editing. We believe in being transparent about this because our readers deserve to know how our reporting is produced.
What AI does in our workflow:
- Summarising long-form source material so editors can quickly find the most important details.
- Suggesting article structure, section headings and bullet-list breakdowns.
- Helping draft initial language that is then reviewed, edited and verified by a human editor.
- Translating or interpreting Arabic-language source material into English.
What AI does NOT do in our workflow:
- Publish content without human review.
- Invent quotes, sources or factual claims.
- Make editorial judgements about which stories matter or how they should be framed.
- Replace primary-source verification.
Editorial Independence
DigitalDubai.ai is editorially independent. We accept advertising through automated networks such as Google AdSense, and we may in future publish clearly labelled sponsored content. No advertiser or sponsor has any influence over our editorial decisions, the topics we cover, or the conclusions we reach. We do not allow paid placement to alter our coverage. Sponsored content, when it appears, will be clearly marked as such and visually distinguishable from editorial content.
Conflicts of Interest
Our editor and contributors disclose material financial or personal interests that might reasonably affect the perceived objectivity of their reporting. We do not write favourably about companies in which we hold a personal financial stake without disclosing that interest in the article itself.
Sources and Confidentiality
When sources speak to us on the condition of anonymity, we protect their identity. We grant anonymity only when the source faces a genuine professional, legal or personal risk for speaking publicly, and we make our best effort to corroborate anonymous information through additional sources before publication.
Updates to These Standards
We may update these editorial standards from time to time to reflect changes in how we operate, technologies we use, or the regulatory landscape in which we publish. Any material changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
